Club Meeting 9th July 2026
The 9th July 2026 meeting, held in the Manor Room, was our last meeting before we break for the Summer. We will return back to club meeting, on 10th September.
For our last meeting, we invited Bill Ward, an actor and photographer, to give us a presentation titled “In Search of …”.

His presentation was entitled "In search of….” and outlined his early life and photography, his journey into acting and the more recent development of his photographic style and how these elements all manage to work together.
Taking advantage of the travel that is necessary for his acting roles, he makes the most of visits to cities and coastlines to merge his two professions. Always drawn to water, be it rivers and waterfalls, the sea and dramatic coastlines or canals and industrial heritage his photography is striking and stirs the emotions.

While he considers that all photography is creative, much of his more recent work would fall into the “creative" genre, incorporating slow shutter speeds, intentional camera movement, multiple expose and unusual angles to provide abstract forms.
Taking his love of water one step further, he has recently produced a book of images that have been taken under the waves. “Immersive”, published by Kozu Books. For more details, visit:
Now based in Bristol, he takes advantage of easy access to the beaches of the Bristol Chanel and the more dramatic coastline of South Wales but also loves to return to his native Northumberland to photograph that coastline and taking a more unusual angle on some of the dramatic castles and landmarks there. A favourite photographic location is also the Outer Hebrides, and we can certainly agree with him that these are all some of our favoured location in the UK.

Bill certainly gave us a great evening for the “end of term”, with plenty to think about and inspire us.
Our next meeting will be on the 10th September 2026 when we return for the next season.
